Glimpses of Good Stuff
Things are rough. Here’s a small thing that helps: keeping an eye out for glimpses of good stuff. Some of mine from the last week:
I wrapped up a massive project that was consuming all of my spare time. Such a relief to have that finished.
Quick coffee meet-up with solid friends to check-in and see what everyone is planning for February.
Watching my kid sing in a large choir of amazing people after years of struggle and illness.
Holding a baby.
Witnessing how strong and grounded another friend is, even while dealing with big, important things in an often hostile environment.
More sunlight and warmer weather.
Hilarious group texting about the most ridiculous things.
Family dinner antics.
Dogs.
A surprise pay raise.
My husband’s safe travel on a work trip.
Daily brief chats with a friend who knows me so well, no pretense is needed.
A clean kitchen after days of neglect (see, massive project above).
I could come up with more if I looked harder. And that’s kind of the point. Let’s commit to looking — it helps.
xo,
