Just a number
The simplest way to be young is to walk around with curiosity. Youth and energy flow from curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
The flip side is also true.
The simplest way to be old is to walk around resisting new experiences and learning.
Age is just a number.
If you’ve been reading here for any length of time, you know that Rohan Rajiv is a favorite of mine. I find his daily blog, A Learning a Day, useful and interesting. He writes short bits each morning (sound familiar?) and his consistency is impressive: he’s written every day since May of 2008.
Today’s post struck a chord. I am solidly in middle age and I, along with my peers, spend no small amount of time thinking about what’s next, how to keep showing up, how to remain as young* as possible for as long as possible.
I do think curiosity and a willingness to experiment are key. Experimentation is both harder and easier at this age. It, like most things, is complicated. I’m experimenting with some new things myself these days and, honestly, I feel younger and more excited than I have in a while.
Stay curious.

Beth
*young here is more about mindset, attitude, and physical ability/mobility than plastic surgery. ;)
