Something(s) to think about
Yesterday, we talked a bit about awe. If you’re into this sort of thing, below is a link to a great (short) meditation by Dacher Keltner, the author of the book I referenced (Awe: The New Science of Everyday Wonder and How It Can Transform Your Life ).
You can play it below or go directly to The Science of Happiness podcast page here.
I’m using Adam Grant’s page-a-day calendar, Something to Think About this year. I’m a long-time fan of the organizational psychologist and Wharton professor’s writing around work and psychology. This was the page from the calendar a few days ago:
The people I most enjoy being with share my most important values, but not always my way of thinking. I learn from them every time we talk. These are my favorite types of conversations — those that help me see things a bit differently, help me consider new ideas — the ones that “widen my aperture” — a phrase I heard recently and like.
Who challenges you to think differently? How can you be more open to new answers?

Beth
