Touchpoints #2
We did this back in January, but now that we’re in the second half of the year, let’s do it again. Things are crazy. This is 100% guaranteed to make you feel better. ❤️
Who are the first 3 people in your life who come to mind when you read this sentence?
If these are people you love, people you feel warmly toward — take a moment sometime today and text, call, or email them.
Nothing major, just something quick like, “hey, I was thinking about you this morning” and whatever else you want to say — a small point of connection with no obvious purpose.
It’s not about logistics: what time does that start? who’s driving on Thursday? or requests: can you help with . . . ? what was the name of that doctor you like?
It’s a touchpoint. A quick, I see you, you matter, I’m glad you’re in my life.
If you’re thinking of people you’ve lost, write to them anyway. What would you tell them, if you could, if they were sitting next to you on the sofa?
And finally, if the people who came to mind are harder for you — maybe a difficult co-worker, a complicated family member, or a former friend — take a moment to send a good thought their way (say a prayer for their well-being or think about how you wish them well, whatever that means for them) and then set your thoughts and feelings around that person down, like you would a heavy package, and turn around, moving on to thoughts of the people who feel like home.
xo,
Beth
