What's your brain care score?
Health talk today:
I read something this week from Harvard Health that I wanted to share with you.
Nearly everyone knows someone impacted by brain health issues — stroke, dementia, depression. The question is, how can we improve our own brain health so these things don’t happen to us? It turns out, there’s an assessment we can take to learn about, and most importantly, take steps to mitigate our risks.
“Dr. Jonathan Rosand, professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School . . . collaborated with patients and colleagues at Massachusetts General Hospital's McCance Center for Brain Health to create the McCance Brain Care Score.”
“‘The findings support earlier evidence showing that it's never too late to raise your Brain Care Score,’ says Dr. Rosand. While the impact may be greater when you're younger, it's still substantial when you're older. And if you've already had a stroke or have early cognitive decline, raising your score is likely to reduce your risk of another stroke and might even slow the rate of your cognitive decline.”
There’s a link to the assessment above, but here it is again:

Remember, it’s never too late to raise your score and every improvement helps.
Let’s get some brain health.
